金閣寺 - Kinkaku-ji Temple (Golden Pavilion)

Kinkaku-ji Temple is a Zen temple whose top two floors are covered in gold leaf.  Each floor is meant to represent a different style of architecture.

This former villa became a Zen temple in 1408.  The present structure was built in 1955, because it has been burned down many times in its history.

The Pavilion and the grounds are beautiful.
