清水寺　－　Kiyomizu Temple

This temple was established around 798 and took its current form in 1633.  Earning a reputation as one of Kyoto’s finest temples, this temple offers a beautiful vantage point for the city.

八坂神社　－　Yasaka Shrine

The Yasaka Shrine (Yasakajinja), is a Shinto shrine in the Gion District of Kyoto.  First built in 656, most of the current buildings were built in 1654 during a reconstruction project.

The Yasaka Shrine is the main focus of the famous Gion Festival in July.
