奈良公園 - Nara Park
Established in 1880, Nara Park is a large park in central Nara, where hundreds of deer roam free. Many are tame, though food may cause some aggression. Some deer have learned to bow for food.
東大寺 - Todaiji Temple
Built in 743, in Nara Prefecture, this temple is home to the world’s largest gilded bronze Buddha. The statue is housed in the Daibutsu-den, 48 meters or 157 feet in height, the largest wooden building in the world.
春日大社 - Kasuga Grand Shrine
Located in Nara Park, this Shinto Shrine is believed to date back from 710, but was officially founded in 768. It is one of the “Three Great Shrines of Japan”.
